The Nideck waterfall :
At the bend in a hiking trail, just a short distance from the ruins of the Château du Nideck, admire this waterfall in a wild, wooded setting. The Nideck waterfall in Oberhaslach is a must-see place for discovering original landscapes. Located at the entrance to the Bruche Valley, the Cascade du Nideck is just a few kilometres outside the village of Oberhaslach.
Myth and legend of the waterfall :
It rises to an altitude of 534 metres, to the south of the remains of the Nideck castles. The water rises from a wall of volcanic rock some 25 metres high. There is a legend about the giants of the Nideck, which gives this place a special atmosphere, enhanced by its wild, wooded character. In summer, the walk is both refreshing and shady. In winter, the place becomes very romantic thanks to the charm of the waterfalls set in the ice. The waterfall is accessible by a footpath from the D218, opposite the Nideck forest house.

The Mencke waterfall :
Enjoy a magical moment around the Mencke artificial waterfall. This is the result of the Mencke rock diverting the Ziegbach. The waterfall can be reached after a short walk and is also the ideal setting for a picnic, so don't hesitate any longer!
An artificial waterfall :
This artificial waterfall is the result of the diversion of the Ziegbach by the Mencke rock. This artifice in no way detracts from the magic of the place, which, depending on the season, can change from a clear jet of water to a trickle. The waterfall can be reached on foot from the Fuschloch forest house (about 1 km after Romanswiller in the direction of Wangenbourg), then take the small road beside the car park, and follow the blue cross.
